OUR SCIENTIFIC MISSION

From coastal peaks to the deepest trenches.

We combat plastic pollution through regional research and community action, protecting marine ecosystems across Southern Africa and beyond.

Plastic pollution is a global crisis threatening marine life. In KZN, between 90,000 and 250,000 tons of waste enter our oceans annually. We address this by mapping pollution sources and deploying interceptors to stop debris before it reaches the open sea.

Our work spans from coastal mountain runoff to the unexplored depths of the Arctic and Marina Trench. By combining local community action with global scientific research, we provide the data and intervention needed to restore our marine ecosystems.

“Pollution knows no borders. Whether in the Marina Trench or our local KZN coast, we must act with scientific precision to save our oceans.”
